UPDATE: New ESXi 5.5 patches called off !!!

Share this:

Apparently VMware called off latest patches for ESXi 5.5 released on 30.4.2015, However all of them can be still residing in your Update Manager!

There is no official statement from VMware out there yet, but I suggest you do not apply following patches:

recalled_patches

ESX550-201504101-SG

ESX550-201504101-BG

ESX550-201504102-BG

ESX550-201504104-BG

I have found out about this by coincidence, when I was looking for a description of the mentioned patches and all of them were pointing to a non existing KBs. So I started digging and I found out they are not even in VMware patch repository anymore.

Looks like those patches can be especially bad for you, if you are using NSX in your environment like stated in KB2116370 and in this ALERT.

Update: VMware has put fixed patches into their repository on Friday 8.5.2015, to be sure you have changes reflected in yours, you can trigger download manually in the update manager admin view
